It took me nearly three (3) weeks to summit Aconcagua.
For some it only lasts 12 hours.
Killian Jornet has set a hard-to-beat speed record on Aconcagua. In only 12 hours and 49 minutes he made it from the National Park Entrance at the south end – up to the summit – at 6,962 masl – and then back down again.
To get some perspective – that’s 8,000 altitute meters up and down. The distance is 80 km back and forth.
His time to get down (the distance pretty much a Marathon) was aproximately 4 hours.
Feels like now is a good time to start my training.
